WWIIUSM-1- WWII US Cased Bronze Star, Slot Broach, SOLD
WWIIUSM-2- WWII / Korean War Military Medal grouping. This group of medals was picked up by my wifes uncle at an estate sale in North Carolina. The grouping includes a US Bronze Star, a Korean Order of Military Merit, 2nd Class, 1st Type, Eulji class numbered 468, a US Army Commendation Medal(named), American Defense, American Campaign, ETO with 5 Battle Stars, Korean Service Medal, The United Nations Korean Service Medal, American Defense Medal, WWII Occupation medal with Germany bar, and Army Reserve medal. There is also a very nice ribbn bar set. The grouping is as complete as you can get for a medal grouping. All of the medals include their respective boxes except the Korean Medal. The Korean Medal of Military Merit 2nd Class is a fairly scarce medal and this one has a low number on it. It appers to be the early type from the very early 50's. This Officer served in WWII and in Korea. He must have served in WWII with an Artillery Regiment. There is a pair of early screwback collar insignia for the 182nd Field Artillery Regiment or Battalion. I assume that is what the DI's are for. Also included is a pair of Major and Lt. Colonel insignia. This is a very nice grouping and worthy or further research. $1300.00
This is not a WWII medal, it is a Korean War Korean Order of Military Merit, 2nd Class, 1st Type, Eulji class. It is numbered 468. This came from an estate sale that my wifes uncle attended. It was with a group of WWII / Korean War medals and insignia that were in the estate sale. There was a US Army Medal of Military Merit with the group that was named. The name on the back of that medal was Jerome W. Suhr. I am asuming that this medal was awarded to him during the Korean War. The WWII and other Korean Medals may be sold in the future, but are not for sale at this time. This is a very fine medal and according to what I can find on the internet it is a very scarce medal.
