

WW1-4-- Pictured is a WWI German Identification Disc for a Leutnant in the Brigade Ersatz Bataillon 44 These Bataillons numbered 1-89 for Prussian and other states and 1-12 for Bavaria. They were formed at the War's start to about sometime in 1915 when they were intergrated into various Infantry Regiments. Regiment #44's home base was Meiningen. Officers HAD to buy there own ID tags. Early war all styles of ID tags were worn, as this is a 1870's style tag. Tags did not become standard untill 1916. SOLD
